Is your dog a diva? Your cat a queen? Your bunny funny? As anyone who owns a pet will tell you, animals have personalities all their own-and with numerology you can get an insight to your pet's disposition just by their name!

Through the Pythagorean method, you attach numerical values to the letters in your pet's name (using the chart below). Then add the numbers together and reduce them to a single digit.

1=A, J, S
2=B, K, T
3=C, L, U
4=D, M, V
5=E, N, W
6=F, O, X
7=G, P, Y
8=H, Q, Z
9=I, R

Example: My dog's name is Tucker.

2 3 3 2 5 9
T u c k e r
2 + 3 + 3 + 2 + 5 + 9=24 / 2 + 4 = 6

My affectionate and loveable Tucker is a 6!

Read below to find the interpretation of your pet's number!

1 - The number itself says it all. Your pet's attitude is likely to be-"I am the 'one' and only!" These pets like to be in charge of things and will try to have their own way-so be sure to have more patience when it comes to training. Wanting to be the center of attention, they'll love the doggy sweater, the sparkly kitty collar that has their name in diamonds or that fancy new cage.

2 - This pet requires harmony and balance and thoroughly loves the outdoors. They are likely to enjoy a trip to the groomers-it makes them beautiful and 2s love beauty. This pet requires a laid back, calm environment, not a loud, boisterous household. Faced with chaos, the 2 pet will create a niche somewhere in the house to avoid the fuss and maintain their sanity.

3 - Make way for the party animal! Wherever you're going, the 3 pet will wanna go with you! Whatever you're eating, they want some, too. They can seem silly and even superficial at times but always loveable. Sometimes, a 3 pet has trouble knowing when the party's over and can have bouts of separation anxiety. That has to do with energy they don't know what to do with while you're gone! Crate training may be the answer.

4 - It's all about routine for the 4 pet! Miss a meal time or play time with this one and you're not likely to forget again. Four is the number of security and foundation, so you probably have a good watchdog (or cat or even ferret) because 4s don't allow one hair (or feather) out of place! Introduce changes gradually with your 4 pet to keep things on an even keel. It will work out better in the long run.

5 - The opposite of 4, the 5 pet is about adventure! If you have to travel and can take your buddy with you, the 5 pet is all for it! This pet is very curious about the world and bores with routine. If you're not careful, they just might wander off without you! "Don't fence me in!" says the 5 pet! They are able to handle changes pretty well and socialize easily. Just offer an assortment of toys and treats to keep their senses busy and they're happy as can be!

6 - Don't be surprised to find the 6 pet climbing into your lap to console you after a rough day. These pets are family oriented and are always faithfully trying to help and please others. A 6 dog is dependable and makes a perfect service animal. They love to be loved and give love and darned if they can't look at you when you're pouring your heart out like they really understand where you're coming from!

7 - Although we keep pets for companionship, the 7 pet doesn't really require a lot of attention. Not that they need to be utterly alone, they just don't require the attention of say, the 3 pet. The 7 pet enjoys its solitude, as 7 is the number of deep thinking. How deep does an animal's thoughts get? Who knows! However, every loner needs entertainment once in a while. Find their favorite toy and have some fun!

8 - Can you say: duh-rama-as in "drama queen"? This pet has you wondering if there's a screw loose when really it's just the excitement of doing the forbidden! That's right-your canine pal will chew up your new shoes out of the blue and your lovey-dovey kitty will suddenly sink its claws into your arm and dash off under the bed--just for the heck of it! If you stick to your guns, they'll give up on the negative stuff and you will be entertained by the clever and outrageous things that only an 8 pet can do!

9 - The 9 is a number of completion or end of a cycle and this pet will have all the aspects of the numbers 1-9 in its personality-so they will seem to have a lot of "knowledge" in them. Even when they are young, it is as though they have "seen it all." You may notice that they also have an uncanny ability to tune in directly to what you are thinking. If you're planning to take them to the vet-they know about it! And you can bet they're nowhere to be found!

Of course, if you have multiple pets in your household, this may explain why they may be fighting "like cats and dogs." It could simply be a matter of personality differences.

~ Enjoy!
